Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs; whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of a discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection, and whoever screened a Muslim, Allah will screen him on the Day of Resurrection . FATTABIOUNI:RENEW INTENTION TO ITTIBA' THE SUNNAH.

Assalamualaikum WBT

FATTABIOUNI | FOLLOW PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PBUH) TRADITIONS).

"Qul in kuntum tuhibbuna Allaha faittabiouni yuhbibkumu Allahu wayaghfir lakum tzunubakum waAllahu ghafurur rahim. [ali-Imran:31]"

"Say (o Muhammad): If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your faults, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."

---------------oooooooo--------------

Today, any observer into the state of the Ummah will find a large vacuum between them and their prophet ( Muhamad pbuh) whether in understanding, following (ittiba') or even his love... they have become distant from his traditions and guidance and that is one of the main reasons for their defeat (into ma'siah and munkar)and weakness.

The "Fattabiouni" projects is intended to contribute towards on filling this vacuum and bring people closer to the Prophetic Tradition (as-Sunnah) in apositive and simple way which covers all aspects of their daily life.

Their Mission

To revive and introduce the as-Sunnah and explain how they can be applied in a format that is relevant to our day and age using the latest means and tools available.

Their Main Objectives

Delivering the Prophetic Tradition in a manner that increases the love and glorification of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in peoples hearts and minds.

Encourage people to adopt the Prophetic Traditions while highlighting their benefit in both this world and the afterlife.

Presenting the as-Sunnah in a manner that will allow every Muslim to participate in the spread of the Prophetic Traditions.

Working towards achieving Social Responsibility through the spread and application of the Prophetic Tradition.

Editorial Views

This project remind us about previous campaign by Muslims in British/Europe when they introduce Innovative Campaign: Inspired by Muhammad (pbuh) to the Britons.

The Inspired by Muhammad campaign is designed to improve the public understanding of Islam and Muslims. It showcases Britons demonstrating how Muhammad inspires them to contribute to society, with a focus on women’s rights, social justice and the environment.

http://www.inspiredbymuhammad.com/campaign.php
They tryied to approach the Non-Muslim community why they must follow the Prophetic Teaching as it is the only solution to end of the crisis of moral that are taking place in Western Society.

That is why IIUM Journalism Club posting this entry as we have to create a phenomenon in IIUM especially and Malaysia at large by doing the similar way to create the Bee'ah Sholehah (Good Environment) to avoid any resistance from outside to mash up the society with something immoral.

ISLAH (Reforming the mind and soul)

The word Islah (reform) must be in the heart of people who wanna change the society with the advantage of NEW MEDIA.

Before that, we need the touch of Tarbeeyah (education) to give some actual picture of Islam as it will guide the Musleh (the preacher/reformer) to invite other people into goodness.

In New media, we have youtube, Facebook, Blogspot-Wordpress, twitter and etc. It is now we as a reformist using these various opportunity and then start our next step to introduce the way of Islam in the heart of the community as well as the leaders.

We not need to use such a CONTROVERSIAL way to create the awareness, but need a creative way by exampling the Fattabiouni Project and taking them as a benchmark to create a better Ummah.

We don't need extreme 'Salafi' , fanatic 'Sufism', extreme 'Shiites' and same ideas goes to Liberal Muslim to make such a controversial discussion which will confuse our brothers and sisters in to learn about Islam.

Moderation

Enough just to maintain our Muslim status as Moderate Muslim rather than become Ghulluw (extremist) by comparing which one of them is the righteous one. Al-Qur'an guide us with:

"wa kazaalika ja'alnaakum ummatan wa satan litakoonoo shuhadaa'a 'alannasi, wayakuna ar-rasulu 'aalaykum shahida. Wama ja'alna alqiblata allati kunta 'alayha illa lina'alama man yattabiou ar-rasoola mimman yanqalibu 'ala 'aqibayhi. Wain kanat lakabiratan illa 'ala allatziena hada Allahu wama kana Allahu liyudee'a imanakum inna Allaha binnasi laraufun rahim" [al-Baqarah:143]

"Thus, have We made of you an Ummat justly balanced, that ye might be witnesses over the nations, and the Messenger a witness over yourselves; and We appointed the Qibla to which thou wast used, only to test those who followed the Messenger from those who would turn on their heels (From the Faith). Indeed it was (A change) momentous, except to those guided by Allah. And never would Allah Make your faith of no effect. For Allah is to all people Most surely full of kindness, Most Merciful."

From the above ayah, we just need to be 'ummatan wasatha' (moderation in living) by following as-Sunnah ar-Rasul SAW, obey Allah's message to us and not to be out from the scholars' consensus.

Moreover, Allah already give us the main point on that verse-the Qiblah as it shows us the symbol of unity thus we need to throw away all the prejudices out of our mind. This is actually the way of Salaf as-sholeh.

In the end as today is Awal Muharram, where Muslims trying to renew their intention to change from bad to good, lets review again and practice as the 31st verse of ali-Imran stated to us. May Allah bless us with His Guidance and His Blessing.

Allahua'alam

WELCOME TO SEMESTER 2011/2012

ASSALAMUALAIKUM

Congratulations and welcome to all students especially new intake 2011/2012. We believe that long-semester break already enough for us to relax our mind and soul and now its time to gain back the knowledge in this university.

For new students, we believe that the excitement to study here can give you panic. We, have the solution on how we as IIUM students survive here. Make sure that to always renew your intention to study here for the sake of Allah.

" 'Umar b. al-Khattab narrated that the Prophet (S) said: Deeds are [a result] only of the intentions [of the actor], and an individual is [rewarded] only according to that which he intends. Therefore, whosoever has emigrated for the sake of Allah and His messenger, then his emigration was for Allah and His messenger..."
[Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim]

“Say (O Muhammad): ‘Verily, I am commanded to worship Allah (alone) by obeying Him and doing religious deeds sincerely for His sake only.”
[Surah az-Zumar : 11]

HOW TO SURVIVE IN UNIVERSITY

This is how we do the in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM)

  • Develop positive attitude- Always  keep in touch with Allah as He is the only one who give us opportunity to live and to gain knowledge.
  • Intention- Always renew your intention, for what and who? For the sake of Allah.
  • Train early- Do not try to suspend the work or tutorial given by Lecturers.
  • Attend all the class- Try not to skip your class especially in heavy subjects.
  • Study with professor- Try to come to your lecturer if any question lingering your mind.
  • Form your study group- Easy your learning by discussing each other.
  • Establish regular study habits- Maintain your study, manage your time. Sleep less, Study more.
  • Ask for help- ask your senior as they can give you instruction what to do next base on their experiences.
  •  Never give up- Keep trying man!!! Do not rapidly relented when your grades turns to something you not aspected and learn from failure.
  • Go to Kuliyah Tazkiyatun-nafs (remedy for heart)- Keep in touch with religious program to prevent our heart from being used by 'nafs' and 'shaitan'. Search the Islamic Knowledge as IIUM provides many religious classes for it's students.
  • Take the benefits from the scholars- Make a relation and ask him/her to share their expertise in various field of studies from Engineering to Revealed knowledge.
  • Find good friends- Strengthening social networks and Islamic Brotherhood -  live up the islamic culture, peace and mutual respect.
  • Manage your money- smart money spending and saving. Invest some of your money to buy books and no to unnecessary things.
  • Involved in every community services - joined da'awah organizations, carry out the ma'ruf and prevent the munkar.

Conclusion

Below are some of the importance why we must seek knowledge

“It is only those who have knowledge amongst His slaves that fear Allah.”
[Surah Al-Fatir (35): 28]

"Seek knowledge, because seeking it for the sake of Allah is a worship. And knowing it makes you more God-fearing; and searching for it is jihad, teaching it to those who do not know is charity, reviewing and learning it more is like tasbeeh. Through knowledge Allah will be known and worshipped. With the knowledge Allah will elevate people and make them leaders and imams, who will in turn guide other people."
[Fatawa Ibn Taymiyah vol.10, p.39]

"Whoever treads on a path in search of Islamic knowledge, Allah will ease the way to Paradise for him. The angels will lower their wings, pleased with this seeker of knowledge, and everyone in the heavens and on earth will ask forgiveness for the knowledgeable person, even the fish in the deepest of waters will ask for his forgiveness”
[Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, Tirmidhi no.2835-sahih hadith]

May Allah give us what is good for us and what is not. Let's seek knowledge until death!!! Allahu mustaan.

The Birth of Islam

"Actually, celebrating the Prophet's birthday means celebrating the birth of Islam..."

~ Shaykh Yusuf Al-Qardawi~

Rabi'ul-Awwal is the most significant month in the Islamic history, because humanity has been blessed in this month by the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi wasallam. Before the birth of the Holy Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi wasallam, not only the Arabian peninsula, but also the so-called civilized nations of Rome and Persia were drowned in the darkness of ignorance, superstitions, oppression and unrest.

The Holy Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi wasallam, came with the eternal truth of Tawhid (Oneness of Allah), the only faith which provides a firm basis for the real concepts of knowledge, equity and peace. It was this faith which delivered humanity from ignorance and superstitions and spread the light of true knowledge all over the world.

Celebrating such a religious occasion is recommended especially nowadays for youth have become forgetful of these religious occasions and their significance because they have indulged in other celebrations.

Moreover, celebrating such a great event should be done through reading more about the Prophet's Sunnah and life, building mosques, religious institutes and doing other forms of charity work that remind people of the Prophet's life and his struggle.

SYEIKH YUSUF AL-QARADHAWI VIEWS ON MAULIDUR RASUL

We all know that the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not celebrate the Prophet's birthday, Hijrah or the Battle of Badr, because they witnessed such events during the lifetime of the Prophet who always remained in their hearts and minds.

Sa`d ibn Abi Waqqas said that they were keen on telling their children the stories of the Prophet's battles just as they were keen on teaching them the Qur'an. Therefore, they used to remind their children of what happened during the Prophet's lifetime so they did not need to hold such celebrations. However, the following generations began to forget such a glorious history and its significance. So such celebrations were held as a means of reviving great events and the values that we can learn from them.

Unfortunately, such celebrations include some innovations when they should actually be made to remind people of the Prophet's life and his call. Actually, celebrating the Prophet's birthday means celebrating the birth of Islam. Such an occasion is meant to remind people of how the Prophet lived.

Allah Almighty says:

"Verily in the Messenger of Allah ye have a good example for him who looketh unto Allah and the last Day, and remembereth Allah much."

[Al-Ahzab 33: 21]

We need all these lessons and such celebrations are a revival of these lessons and values. I think that these celebrations, if done in the proper way, will serve a great purpose, getting Muslims closer to the teachings of Islam and to the Prophet's Sunnah and life.

THE IMPORTANCE OF LOVING THE PROPHET S.A.W

Narrated by Abu Hurairah, that Allah's Messenger says: "By the hands of Him, not complete your faith among you if you not love me more than your father and son" (Narrated by al-Bukhari, Kitab al-Iman, Chapter: Hub Messenger min al-al-Iman, no. 14)

The hadith clearly indicates the duty to love him and someone may not be perfect, except the ones he loved more than love to others. It also describes how the close relationship between faith and love to the Prophet. This is the essence of true faith.

Is explained in another hadith:

Anas that the Prophet said: "Three things that anyone would havegot the sweetness of faith: to make God and His Messenger is more loved than the others ..." (Narrated by al-Bukhari, Kitab al-Iman, Chapter: Halawat & Muslim al-Iman , Kitab al-Iman,Chapter: Bayan Khisal man ittasafa bihinna wajada halawatal-iman).

HOW TO INCREASE OUR LOVE TO THE PROPHET S.A.W.

1-Knowing and recognize him through history. There are books regarding to the life of the prophet such as Raheeq Makhtum (The Sealed Nectar) by Syeikh Saifurrahman al-Mubarakpuri. An interesting reading material.

2-Practice and read his Sunnah. If could not do all the sunnah then do not leave everything.

3-Know the grace of God bestowed upon us by sending Messenger. Through Prophet Muhammad S.A.W, Muslims received the guidance of Islam. It guide us to distinguish between truth and falsehood, and at once to saveour world and the hereafter.

"O people of the Book! There hath come to you our Messenger, revealing to you much that ye used to hide in the Book, and passing over much (that is now unnecessary). There hath come to you from Allah a (new) light and a perspicuous Book. Wherewith Allah guideth all who seek His good pleasure to ways of peace and safety, and leadeth them out of darkness, by His will, unto the light,- guideth them to a path that is straight."

[al-Maidah:15-16]

4-Do Salawat to the Prophet frequently.

"Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! Send ye blessings on him, and salute him with all respect."
[al-Ahzab:56]

Salawat is encouraged by the hadith of the Prophet:

With the authority of Abu Hurairah that the Prophet said: "Those who blessing me for one salawat, then God will bless him ten times too" (Narrated by Muslim, Book al-prayer,Chapter: al-salat 'ala al-Nabiy ba'da al-tasyahud).

Ramadhan Spirit Doesn't Have To End

Bismillahi Ar-Rahmani Ar-Rahim
Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters,

By the grace of Allah, who granted us the chance and opportunity to reach this blessed month of Ramadhan, a month in which the gates of Paradise are opened wide and the gates of the Hellfire are shut, a month wherein we get closer to Him by fasting through the day and praying in the night, a month which contains a night more virtuous than a thousand months. This is a season of forgiveness and the season of unimaginable rewards from Allah the Most Great, Most Merciful, Most Forgiving!

My dear brothers and sisters, this blessed month only stays for a few days and then will eventually leave us, so we should not leave a second or a single moment in this last ten nights without beneficial action and obedience. The last ten nights of Ramadhan is a major time to ask forgiveness. In Hadith Qudsi, Allah said:

O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me,
I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind.

O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you.

O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great at it. (At-Tirmidhi)

Hence in this last ten nights, Ramadhan spirit doesn't have to end but let’s us keep upgrading our du’a and ask for His forgiveness, take a glimpse and observe how the pious people were consistent in their worships; they would spend their night prayers remembering Allah with humility and make du’a. Their focus on the hereafter and they truly knew the value and blessings of Ramadhan. They were not distracted by meaningless distractions. So, may Allah give us the taufiq to gain full benefit out of this Ramadhan Insya-Allah. O Allah, forgives us, have mercy on us, unite us, and help us all to live our lives for Your pleasure. Ameen.

Ilal liqo, Ma'assalamah.

Assalamu alaikum Brothers and Sisters,

I just wanted to say jazakum Allahu khayr for those who always show up in any of our programs especially that were organized last Monday which was LL4G: Have we ended the Siege? Hope that you gain knowledge and benefits out of it. It means a lot when we include our heart and soul together with our body throughout the program.

Anyway, I thought that it would be sweet if you would have one of this, a collection of our masterpieces. Here I only upload the front and back cover. A book of 34 pages consists of comics, ummatic rhyme, boycott items, a song of Palestine, story, history and other articles that related to LL4Gaza and Palestine. It’s only cost for RM3. Hope that you will enjoy it. Buy one, gives one charity, one generosity.

May Allah grant us all His Paradise out of His Mercy! Ameen.

By the way, something just pop up in my mind, “How to ensure every day brings us closer to Allah's Paradise?” Let’s us think and try to put an effort to attain it. W'alam.

Active in the Hearts of the Ummah

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatahu!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

There is no doubt, Palestine is still under occupation. Even if the situation cools down, bombing stops and Jewish armies withdraw from Gaza, Palestine is still under occupation and thus its cause should never be pacified. In helping our brothers and sisters in Gaza continuously, our team members of IIUM Journalism Club would like to invite you to AN EVENT on this coming MONDAY!

SPREAD THE CAUSE

Actually, this is one of the most essential roles Muslims should play and shouldn’t be stopped. It is sure a dangerous situation when the Palestinian cause is inactive in the hearts of the Ummah members and it becomes active only when tremendous disasters takes place. We have a tongue, we have energy and we all have the time in keeping the Palestinian issues alive forever. We will just need to spread the word and Allah will convey our message to the whole world. Definitely, the words will reach everywhere here and there. So feel free to attend THE EVENT to get some updates and stories from our invited speakers.

CONTINUOUS DONATIONS

Brothers and sisters, never think that we are powerless and helpless. We could possibly own as much money as mountains when we jointly collect money for our brothers and sisters in Gaza who are in terrible need thereof. Undoubtedly, spending in the cause of Allah is part and parcel of jihad. In this regard, The Prophet s.a.w gave us a glad tiding in the Hadith:

"Anybody who equips a warrior going to fight in the Way of Allah is like one who actually fights. And anybody who looks after his family in his absence is also like one who actually fights."

So you guys, do realize that we still have the opportunity to receive the reward of jihad through supporting Mujahedeen with money even if in a little amount. In fact, we are required to constantly donate so as not to interrupt the course of jihad and, at the same time, to keep the cause alive in our hearts. Thus, when you had a chance to attend THE EVENT do bring along some moneys and coins. Remember, your wealth can lead to Paradise or Hellfire. Wallahu’alam.

Looking forward to welcome you in forum LL4G: Have We ENDED the Siege?

Ilal liqo, Ma'assalamah.

Youth in A Mission

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatahu!

My dear Muslim brothers and sisters, sometimes we have to sit back and ponder about life and ponder about the purpose of it. At times we know the purpose, yet we fall of track due to the play and amusement of this world. No one can deny that this world is one big attraction. Hence, in order to ensure that we are in the right track, it is best to pause and reflect back.

You see, most people make the use of the situation based on a cycle. The EAT-WORK-SLEEP cycle, which will turns out to be boring. Monday the classes start and last till Friday. Then again the same old weekend, where some people claims to enjoy. The same old story again and again. But we have to remember and ask ourselves why we are here and stick to it. Don’t run from it! We have a mission to be completed.

Ha??? What kind of mission do you mean? Well, my dear brothers and sisters, what Allah requires from us is to be a mu’min and mujahid. A mu’min is one who is true and firm in his faith in Allah. Whereas a mujahid is one who strives his utmost, with all out, to gain Allah's pleasure. If we are a mu’min and a mujahid, Allah will assist us to rise to higher stations both in this world and in the Hereafter. This is the ultimate triumph. It’s not merely getting an A grades in the examination. Hence as a new semester will eventually starts, let’s us think hard of an investment that pays off long-term that is the Hereafter. Don’t you think so? It’s kind of a small act of worship which results in such a huge reward.

True believers are those who struggle and work hard to attain the pleasure and satisfaction of Allah in this world and in the Hereafter. There is no doubt that Allah is the one who grants success. Thus, let us ask Allah to guide and help us in each of our actions, to make it easy for us to follow the haq and guide us to actions that will lead us to Jannah! May He grant us all Al-Firdaus out of His mercy. Ameen!

A bunch of youth in a mission: To become a mu'min and mujahid

Hardship Keeps you Alive

Assalamu’alaikum brothers and sisters,

How was your Eid? What did you get up to? Anything special? I’m sure that you guys had a great time celebrating Eidul Fitri festival with your extended family members and fellow friends. Sorry for the long silence. Mid semester break will end sooner or later and classes will start as usual. So I hope that we could set up our heart and mind in a peak of preparedness. Here, I have an analogy to share with you guys. Just to give you the picture of how awesome and beautiful makhluq that Allah has created in order for us to ponder. Subhanallah! God the Al-Mighty.

Okay, people would always love to eat a fresh fish right? Especially Japanese people. Well, most of the Japanese mentioned that to keep fish tasting fresh all the time, they add a small shark into a tank. The shark eats a few fish and most of the fish that stay alive is in a very energetic and dynamic state. Subhanallah, very interesting, isn’t it? You see the fish are challenged and hence are constantly on the move. Same as the difficulties and hardships that we gone through in our lives are exactly like little sharks. The challenge that we face keeps us fresh. Allah sends them to ensure that we stay ALIVE, AWAKE, VIBRANT and ACTIVE in our lives. But if we begin to go easy on our duties, we may be one of the fish eaten by the shark.

Thus, whenever you are in the middle of difficulties just don’t give up. Instead we should reorganize and restructure with full determination, knowledge and ask help from Allah, the Source of All Power. He has always had the best solutions to your problem and trouble, insha Allah.

“If Allah helps you, none can overcome you; and if He forsakes you, who is there after Him that can help you And in Allah (Alone) let believers put their trust.” (Ali Imran, 3: 160)

With best wishes to see you guys succeed at the highest level!

Electrifying Ramadhan Efficiency

Salam my dear brothers and sisters,

Have you noticed that each year, Ramadhan goes by faster and faster? How much are we missing? Did we really spend most of our time to develop our spiritual needs? Soon, the blessed month of Ramadhan will be leaving us once again. This holy month can’t be left to become a blur in our memories.

The fruit of fasting ought to be that is rich inner which the Quran calls taqwa. Taqwa becomes the key which can unlock all the doors leading to the blessings such as honour, prosperity and freedom from fear and unease in-this-world. Also taqwa leads to success, Paradise and God’s good pleasure in the life-to-come. Hence, within these few days left lets us electrify our Ramadhan to become more efficient in developing the closeness towards Allah.

How? Well, we have to be smart and think about how we can MAXIMIZE the effectiveness we want to earn! Let’s think like a businessman who always concerned on small investment but big profit. Ramadhan is surely the perfect time. So, Inshallah following is a short list of suggested ibadah to share with you guys:

1. Recite some Quran after every Prayer. Actually, if you read 3-4 pages after every Prayer you can finish the entire Quran in Ramadan!

2. Study the Quranic Tafseer every morning. Or whenever you feel free.

3. Learn to control your tongue and lower your gaze. Remember the Prophet's warning that lying, backbiting, and a lustful gaze all violate the fast!

4. Experience the joy of Tahajjud prayers late at night. Allocate and submit yourself purely and fully to Allah.

5. Seek forgiveness and recite istighfar as much as you could:

"Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun kareemun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni"
(O Allah, You are the One who grants pardon for sins, loves forgiving, so forgive me.)

"Astaghfirullah hallazi lailaha illa huwal Hayyul Qayyum wa atubu ilaih"
(I seek forgiveness from Allah, the Almighty, there is no God but He. He is self-Existent, the Eternal and I return to Him)

So, I hope that we gain something out of this Ramadhan. May Allah grant us the ability to change and transform ourselves to be a better slave of Allah and not to be of those who are prevented from His Mercy. May He also allow us all to enter into His Forgiveness in this blessed month of Ramadhan and in all the other Ramadhans we live to see. Ameen. Indeed He is the One who Hears and He is the One to Respond.
