RELEASE STATEMENT

 

On 24 October 2011, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Journalism Club had been organized a forum "Somalia and Palestine: Our responsibility" at ADM LT 3, IIUM Gombak Campus. With the presence of great panelist from Palestine and Somalia activist, we managed to conduct a flash donation during the forum.

On behalf of everyone who organized the fundraising, we want to extend a huge Thank You to everyone who donated and made this effort a monumental success!
We managed to pull in just over RM4205.50, Rp20 000, Sin$2.00, US$2.00, 6Dirham and mostly donations from IIUM's generous residents.

All of the collected donations will be distributed to brothers in Somalia and Palestine with the help of Haluan Malaysia. There are a number of reasons why must put them in priority list, but primary as humanitarian aid to Somali and Palestinean.

Finally, we want to again thank our amazing IIUM staff made this possible, including Bro Wan Rizaila and Dr Asiah from Students Activity Center, IIUM.

DEMOCRATIC MALAYSIA

Malaysia is a democratic country which holding monarch under its federal constitution. When we speak about Malaysian constitution, the government system is closely modelled on the Westminster Parliamentary System that we inherited it from colonial era. The head of state is the Yang DiPertuan Agong, and The head of government is the Prime minister.

Malaysian already talk about the coming general election (PRU13). Whether we realize it or not students are also part of the voters and they should be allowed to discharge their responsibilities by voting in the general election of the 12th to be held soon for the good of religion, race and nation.


YOUTH, STUDENTS AND THEIR VOTE

Unfortunately, hedonism starting to penetrate the young people along with development in the world of entertainment that caused them to ignore the things that is more important in their lives, their right to vote.

In a statement of Mohd Faisal Mustafa, a student activist said that 80 percent from 4.9 million of youth eligible to vote have not yet register as voter. The reasons students do not want to vote is they think youth cannot influence the government policies and the future of the country, there is no time to vote, not interested, lazy, not important, but some say do not know where and how to vote.

So as IIUM students what is your preparation, information regarding to our next General Election (PRU13) ? If you don’t register yet for this coming PRU13 lets doing this simple procedure and grab the information here.


1-WHO SHALL I VOTE FOR?

• -In the name of democracy, you are entitled to your personal political preference. We don't care who you vote for as long as you do vote. 

2-WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO VOTE?

• -You need to be a Malaysian citizen over the age of 21. You also need to be a registered voter.
  

3-HOW DO I REGISTER MYSELF AS A VOTER?

• -There are many voluntary organizations, NGOs and political parties who regularly promote voter registration in public places and events. You may register through them. You may also register at any IIUM post office. So simple. Just bring you identity card and ask at the counter. It is very easy and takes less than 5 minutes. 

4-WHEN SHOULD I REGISTER?

• -You may register at anytime. However, if you intend to vote in the coming general election, please register yourself as soon as possible. The Election Commission imposes a voter registration cut-off period counting back 3 months from the date of the election. In other words, you are only eligible to vote if you had registered at least 3 months before the date of the general election. SO, DO REGISTER NOW AND DONT WAIT!!!

Life Cut Shockingly

Multitudes of men have walked on the surface of this Earth. A few of them have successfully created history for us to remember where as others are kept silent. Although each of us has different personality and the way of thinking, but there are two common things that we couldn’t possibly changed and avoid that is birth and death. The people who were at first delivered by their mother will eventually taste death. Nobody had guaranteed us that we will live here for a thousand years. Surely, all men die.

When Imam Ali An-Naqi Al-Hadi was imprisoned, he had dug up a grave ready by the side of his prayer mat. Some visitors expressed weird and surprise. Then Imam explained, “In order to remember my end I keep the grave before my eyes.” This is the characteristic of a believer. Before times run out and the final moment approaches, they would feel and realized that how important that he wakes up from an inattention situation and always prepares for the Final Everlasting Day. Ready or not, some day it will come to an end.

For those who didn't hear the news, there are a few people who have a close connection and relationships with us were called to meet their creator. There were our beloved lecturer, our master trainer and our dear friend who have passed away last month.


7th March 2010: Prof. Dr. Wahyudi Martono, from Department of Mechatronics Engineering, IIUM who passed away on Sunday by the age of 40 at RS Pusrawi.

19th March 2010: Master Trainer, Haji Mohd Osman Ibrahim who passed away on Friday by the age of 67 years old.

29th March 2010: Our dear friend from Kuliyyah of Law, Mohd Firdaus bin Ismail who met with an accident and has passed away on.

We prayed to Allah to rest the departed soul in peace and grant strength to the family members to accept this permanent loss with redha and calmness. Readers, lets recite Al-Fatihah for all departed souls of believer men and women. Wallahu’alam.

About Us

Lifeline 4 Gaza, or Talian Hayat Untuk Gaza as we read it in Bahasa Malaysia, is a collaborative effort between Malaysian NGOs to join an international campaign to break years of Israel siege on Gaza. We are working along with Free Gaza Movement who is based in Cyprus, IHH in Turkey, MERC and Kispa Indonesia, and other NGOs from USA, Greece, France, Germany, Italy, Venezuella and many more.The fortilla is expected to depart Istanbul on 15th May 2010, comprising 20 ships and cargo boats to be laden with building supplies, generators, medical equipment and educational materials. They will sail through the Mediterranean Sea, carrying members of Parliament from countries around the world as well as high-profile journalists and human rights activists. Lets break the siege now, before it’s too late! For the Malaysian charter, the efforts are being carried out by collaborations of, among others, the following NGOs:

I have two important announcements to be made. The first one is the interesting part, next week is pre-registration week. So hope that all of you have arranged and rearranged the schedule well. Do check the timetable earlier as we don’t want any clashes and you may prepare yourselves for the final exams. Study and comprehend the subject earlier will help you a lot during the final, insha Allah.

To ensure the smooth running of our online system, specifically, the coming web-based course pre-registration exercise which will be held from 29th September 2009 until 05th October 2009, we would appreciate it very much if you could kindly change your pin number at the link provided and follow the instructions accordingly. This new pin number is applicable to all online system including student portal.

This announcement is not applicable to graduated students and thise attending programmes conducted by the Strategic Business Units (SBUs).

Senario masa kini:

Di dunia ini terdapat hanya 14,000,000 orang Yahudi;
7 juta di Amerika, 5 juta di Asia, 2 juta di Eropah dan 100,000 di Afrika.
Dianggarkan pula ada 1,476,233,470 umat Islam;
1 billion di Asia, 400 juta di Afrika, 44 juta di Eropah dan 6 juta di America.

Setiap daripada 5 orang, seorang adalah muslim;
seorang Hindu nisbahnya 2 Muslim,
seorang Buddha nisbahnya 2 Muslim &
seorang Yahudi nisbahnya 100 Muslim.

Nisbah orang Yahudi kepada orang Islam adalah 1 kepada 100. Walau bagaimanapun, mereka 100 kali lebih berkuasa daripada umat Islam keseluruhannya (1.4 billion).

98% rakyat negara kristian tamat sekolah rendah dan 40% berjaya masuk ke university. kurang daripada 50% rakyat negara Islam tamat sekolah rendah dan hanya 2% berjaya masuk ke universiti.

Negara Islam mempunyai 230 saintis daripada sejuta Muslim.
US mempunyai 4,000 saintis per sejuta.
Jepun mempunyai 5,000 per sejuta.
