09/09/2010 - Have you heard the news about the proposed project of burning copies of the Quran? Terry Jones, the priest of Christian church in Florida had once announced that he planned to burn the Quran on September 11. Now, with just two days to go, he had received a lots of condemns and pressures from all over the countries. Countries with large Muslim communities like Malaysia, Indonesia and India have all appealed to U.S. President Barack Obama to stop Jones from carrying out his planned. Apart from Muslims countries, he has also been condemned by other civilian leaders and military commander, below are some of their quotations:
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, speaking, "It's regrettable that a pastor in Gainesville, Florida, with a church of no more than 50 people, can make this outrageous and distressful, disgraceful plan and get the world's attention,"
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has also weighed in, saying, "Rather than burn the Koran, I would encourage people to read it."
Anyway, whatever is their agenda, we should clearly understand that this is just part of the game. The purpose of this proposed project is just to get some reactions from Muslims all over the world. What they expected from us is that the Muslims will go crazy, over emotional, mindless and barbaric (uncivilized). If we react emotionally, then we would fall into their games.
It is important for us to realize that this is just same old thing and same old games; they attack us ideologically & psychologically. The Prophet s.a.w has already suffered with this kind of attacks during his life time either physical & military attacks or even ideological & psychological attacks. It is just a continuation and tradition of the Quraisy. And they will not stop until we follow their footsteps. So, what we need to do is respond in the most beautiful and intellectual way.
Two essential things that we need to keep in mind are that:
First, there is no such thing as burning the Quran. Why? Because the Quran is protected and guarded by Allah s.w.t. It is a very high rank speech and not merely a book or a magazine. The Quran is with Allah and in the chest of the believers; you can check the beautiful definition of Quran in Surah Al-Ankabut, verse 49. So if they want to burn the Quran, it is pointless and meaningless action.

“… trying to insult Allah’s Book, or harm Allah’s Book is as useless as trying to spit at the sun. It’s only going to come back at your face..”
“…the ayat we recite lie in the chests of those who have been given knowledge. You want to burn the Quran, you will have to burn these chests..”

Hence brothers and sisters, what I would like to stress and crave in this post is the ignorance of the Muslims. Our ignorance is their most powerful weapons, not the military or media. When we don’t have knowledge, then it would be easily for them to twist us and make fun of us. It is the time that we have to wake up and realized that we need to equip ourselves with knowledge and proper education, and then we have nothing to fear. So, rise up young Muslims and let’s prepare ourselves. True believers we must be.
